Synopsis

Wicked won Best Film of 2024, along with seven other awards – more than any other film this year – including Best Director for Jon M. Chu, Best Fantasy Film, and Best Musical.

In the top acting awards, Kieran Culkin added a Cosmo to his shelf with his Oscar for his supporting role in A Real Pain. His win was the only major acting award to mirror the Oscars. Other winners included Demi Moore for The Substance and Ralph Fiennes for Conclave in the lead categories and Isabella Rossellini in Conclave for Best Supporting Actress.

After numerous nominations, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was finally inducted into the Best Films of All Time Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame. It is the first film to win awards during its calendar year awards, and then later be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Other Hall of Fame inductees include Angela Bassett and Gene Hackman in the acting Halls of Fame, and Joan Cusack and Harvey Corman in the comedic acting Halls of Fame.
