The nominations are in, and The Princess Bride (1987) leads the pack with nine nominations, followed by Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) with eight nominations, Aliens (1986) and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) with seven nominations each, and 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Alien (1979), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), and The Silence of the Lambs (1991) with six nominations each.

- Write-ins are not allowed. The time to write in a nominee was during the nomination process.
