Welcome to Cosmique Movies

Welcome to Cosmique Movies, and the revamped home of the Cosmique Movie Awards.

We were founded two decades ago by a group of friends in San Francisco who were reacting to (and in some cases against) the results of the Academy Awards. At an Oscars party, talk turned from who would win to who should have won…and who should have been nominated instead. That led to the creation of our own alternative awards that, in our mind, blends the gravitas of the Oscars with the irreverence of the MTV Movie Awards.

At this new site, we plan to include:

• Our own movie reviews
• Trailers of selected upcoming films
• Occasional movie industry news and gossip
• Periodic polls and rankings
• Film industry awards like the Oscars and the Golden Globes
• And everything about our own awards, the Cosmique Movie Awards

Our longterm goal is to have a separate page for every award by year, every nominated film, and every nominated person. That will take more than we’re currently able to do, so in the meantime, we’ll be listing the awards, films, and people in a set of lists.

We’re still getting settled in, so bear with us while we get things organized.
